Truce graduates presented exercises and sat on a panel at an event held by the City Circle (a network of Muslims in London) entitled ‘Resolving Conflict from Kashmir to East London’ on 3rd April 2009.

Truce graduates volunteered at the ‘Insight on Peacebuilding Launch’ at the House of Commons on 6th May 2009

Ten truce graduates went to see the ‘Project Kashmir’ UK film premiere, at the closing night of the international film festival at the Ritzy Cinema, Brixton on 27th March 2009. This was intended to deepen awareness of the conflict in Kashmir before our Kashmiri peacebuilder, Ashima Kaul, worked with the young people.

Truce graduates participated in a ‘community conversation’ run by Conflict and Change and the Muslim Mediation Service to explore their underlying feelings on the Gaza Conflict on the 4th February 2009.

Truce graduates designed and led an advanced workshop on dealing with prejudice and valuing diversity for Polish and German volunteers from the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace programme in Wales on 16th June, 2009.

Additionally truce graduates have been supported in attending international conferences on conflict resolution.

  • Fiaza Muhamed represented Truce 2020 at the Commonwealth conference on leadership and peacebuilding at Cyprus
  • Geurda Bondonga represented Truce 2020 on the Intercultural Navigators British Council programme, which took him to Slovakia.
