Staff.
Klaudia Brezna is the project manager, who raises funds and works with different partners in order to make sure the project runs smoothly. Through liasing with different agencies and organisations, Klaudia finds opportunities for Truce graduates to get involved in projects and programmes that complement and develop their talents and interests. She is planning on expanding the project into new areas of London.
Klaudia also works with international peacebuilders from ‘hot’ conflict areas, who inspire and motivate the young people during their stay in London.
Klaudia says, “I’m passionate about Truce 20/20 and feel very lucky to work with a diverse group of young people who are united in their desire to do something positive for their community. I continuously work to provide the Truce graduates with opportunities to use their ‘new’ skills in conflict resolution and peacebuilding. In a time when there are so many negative images of young people being presented in the media, it is a privilege to work with such positive and committed young role models, who are such an inspiration to their peers.”
Selina Larsen’s role is to provide opportunities for the young people to lead conflict resolution workshops for students in primary and secondary schools, deliver ‘taster’ sessions for prospective Truce 20/20 participants, and assist Klaudia in organising of interesting events promoting the work of peacebuilding.
Selina has taken on her new role at the beginning of April 2010 and we’re very excited to have her onboard with our project.
Trainers
Conflict and Change is an organisation that’s been providing conflict resolution training and working with young people for over 20 years. Each new Truce group gets a training programme specially designed by Conflict and Change, covering mediation, workshop leadership and conflict resolution. The course is accredited by the Open College Network and Youth Achievement Award.
